Hi, I'm Ronnie George and this is my story
I believe the way real estate is sold in today's world is fundamentally flawed and needs fixing.
I followed the traditional path of real estate sales and it left me in debt, uneducated & helpless. I forged a new path as the broker of my own company determined to change the way real estate is bought and sold.
Using innovative marketing techniques I'm able to dramatically increase my sellers' bottom lines while greatly decreasing the stress & anxiety of my buyers.
It was 2006, I was 18 and optimistic, and had the bright idea to get my real estate license. It wasn't long until I had my first home under contract with plenty more to follow. I made just a little under $30,000 my first year and I felt like I was on top of the world.
Just two years after becoming an agent the 2008 financial crisis began to take it's toll and sales were slipping. I continued to advertise how I had been taught, only this time nothing was working. I continued to spend thousands of dollars a month on advertising; my advertising bills went up while my savings went down.
By the summer of 2008 I was broke. Zero cash in the bank and only a pile of unpaid advertising bills to keep me company. I decided to put my license on hold and get a "real job".
Back in the game
I joined the local fire department, paid off my debts & continued on with my life. After 1.5 years as a firefighter I became very comfortable with a regular schedule and consistent pay.
At that time I took a new job as a correctional officer at FCC Pollock, a federal prison just outside the town where I lived. The job provided great pay, benefits and a consistent schedule.
Despite the stability and steady pay, I wanted more. I missed selling real estate so I decided to reactivate my license in 2010. Unfortunately, I only had a handful of hours after work to contact clients. I found that working inside of a prison with no cell phone access for 8 hours at a time wasn't the best way to service clients let alone build a steady flow of deals.
The moment everything clicked
After nearly 5 years as a correctional officer and part time real estate agent I reached a critical point in my life. I was faced with two choices: Continue down the career path of a correctional officer, ascending the ranks & dealing with the politics associated. Or trust my "gut", leave the prison and go full time into real estate.
I took the leap in 2014.
I went full time and never looked back. I started off by leaving my existing company to join a more established one. Seeking stability I became a buyer's agent on a team of other agents. I made a little over $50,000 my first year and was loving life again.
When momentum builds
Just a year after joining my new brokerage I felt confident enough to go out on my own as a solo agent. I poured every ounce of energy into my education of marketing, social media & branding. To ensure my success. I'd spend countless hours studying psychology and reading everything I could that related to advertising, mindset & sales.
It paid off.
I surpassed any and all expectations I had set for myself. In 2015 I passed the $100,000 mark in income as a real estate agent and continued to build my brand, establish goals & advance my career with my company.
Make the change or stay the same
Once sales were consistent I started to invest heavily into my marketing. I purchased professional quality camera equipment, a drone, new signs & doubled down on my social media advertising budget.
Sales continued to rise. I advanced quickly within my company while continuing to grow my brand & define my own style of marketing.
There was only one down side to all this growth. It attracted attention. Attention that I was unfamiliar with and not accustomed to. I learned quickly that not all exposure is good exposure.
I had a falling out with my company that completely revolutionized my entire perspective on the real estate industry as a whole.
It was time to rebuild & reform. To completely restructure the real estate brokerage model inside out.
The George Group, LLC
In 2017 I opened my own real estate brokerage in Alexandria Louisiana - fully committed to reforming the status quo.
The goal was simple: to place clients' needs before my own, to redefine service to it's very core, to exceed expectations & push traditional boundaries.
I began by creating a handful of marketing campaigns aimed directly at helping home owners who were stuck in their homes, unable to move do to lack of equity. I offered to sell their current home for $1 if they purchased there next one with me. The campaign was a success!
Next on the list were For Sale By Owners. I offered to advertise their home for free in hopes of finding them a buyer. I provided professional photos, marketing videos and online exposure at no upfront cost or exclusive representation - only to be compensated with an agreed upon flat fee if I delivered a qualified buyer. Another Success!
Expansion & limitless possibilities
Our headquarters are on the 7th floor of a one of a kind glass building that I would stare at as a kid, thinking to myself, "I want that building, one day I'm going to own it".
Currently, I'm expanding The George Group into Lafayette Louisiana with the same commitment - still focused on reforming the status quo, still obsessed with exceeding expectations & pushing boundaries, still placing my clients' needs at the forefront of my business.
